Kansas City Parks Master Plan

Click & like our project!
Vision Design by Jonathan Brice Lyman.

REV. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. PARK

The goal behind our concept is to generate revenue for the 3rd District neighborhoods and the neighborhood that surrounds the park; while building awareness of the importance of stormwater, green infrastructure, trees, and native plants.

Add

  • An elevated water tank. A tank would read 'Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.', atop it. Ad space would be available. Discounts would be given to minority-owned businesses. The water from the tank will be able used to water the native plants (which is needed for the first 2 years) and trees. The tank will educate about the impact of storm water by being on display and demonstrating its functions. Tours will be given to the water tank.
  • Native plants to display and encourage citizens of Kansas City, Missouri to adopt some of the native plants with long root systems into their life. The distribute the native plant seeds.
  • Art stations w/ electrical outlets & art pieces will be throughout the park.

MY REGION WINS! would like to be the contracted curator for this.
